expectations
In many different places in the world, people consider there are not living the life they disserve... they are like surviving... with actual life in dreams, myths, imagination,... in any case, far away... They are waiting... waiting... possibly complaining... but in no way trying to change the world around them... The most amazing is that it is not concerning one or a small group of people but a whole population... it's like there are no solutions for their surroundings... it's useless. to fight... habits, traditions, politics and corrumption are so strong that changing anything seems impossible... so people are waiting... the distant gaze... through the mountains... through the ocean... As an observer you may wonder why they don't try to build their dreams here... but it's tough to understand why and how lifes are frozen... and they are surely right...
This series of photographs have been made in North Africa (Algeria and Tunisia)... where most people use to live in the expectation of a better world away... Either someones in a family is already there and are supporting others... either they search for a mean to reach there... either they live dreaming... lifes are like frozen... time is passing slowly... full of expectations...

not many today, but still we have to focus on the math...

and then walls, lots of walls... with dates and offers...
walls leveled by fleeing strangers...
a soccer ball appears... above it keeps the moral high ground...
it's the Sahara that's coming up... to be lost in the distance...
dwellings in the heart of silence... not so desert... strugling for life...
deafening silence under the stinging rays of the sun... human traces....
walled sea... hidden women... why the expectation of the afterlife?
